Yamaba Spring
Haruki Yamaba
I use Japanese art materials to depict dances and movements such as ballet, Japanese dance, and figure skating, like a frame-by-frame video. Every movement in every dance has a meaning, such as a historical or cultural background. I interpret the origins and messages contained in the choreography through research, and change the background and composition depending on the motif. I want to depict the cultural background of various dances, and the prayers and feelings that people put into dance.
